I am excited to be representing the membership as the 2017 NADOA President. It is exciting to have DENVER represented at a high level on our national board. After searching sites two years ago, I presented three cities to the NADOA board to choose where the 2017 Institute would be held. The Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop, (Austin) Texas was chosen. It is about 18 miles from the airport and just outside of Austin. I am working hard along with the Institute committee to provide a quality experience for everyone who attends.
This year we have an early bird tuition rate of $595 for members to attend a 3-day seminar. We will offer a 3-hour course on Escheat taught by Pam Wentz of KEANE on Wednesday morning, September 6th. It is beneficial to our companies for division order analysts and others (including accountants) in our companies to attend a Escheat seminars. So much changes year to year that we hope you will plan to add the 3rd day of education to your Institute experience.
We are also planning a half day afternoon calculations class that will cover elementary as well as complicated calculations that we deal with every day. This will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday September 6th. By holding a morning and afternoon class, everyone can attend both sessions and complete three full days of education. Our Institute is the BEST educational value across the industry.
An Ethics class and other topics are being confirmed weekly. We are optimistically hoping to have enough people attend Institute to fill six sessions per class period. Start mentioning attending the 2017 Institute to your co-workers and managers. We may have a few classes for leaders in the workplace to try to make your jobs a little easier.
This year we will combine the Welcome Reception and President’s Reception into one event on Wednesday night that you will not want to miss. On Thursday an unforgettable evening is in the works that will keep you entertained and surprised. Many of you can drive to Austin and airfares to Austin from Denver are downright cheap. The cost of early bird tuition is a steal! The hotel is only $195 per night plus tax and parking is free! What more can you ask for…
Save the date of September 6-8 and attend the 2017 NADOA Institute at Lost Pines deep in the HEART of Texas. See you there.
