Hi Robert,

For oil and gas companies, the system is Agreement-based. We have a Tract-based version for our mineral companies and other industry types.

Let me know if you’d like to chat about it or see a demo.

Thanks,

Hi,

I’d suggest taking a look at LandWorks Property Management. http://www.landworks.com Many of our clients were challenged with the complexity of managing large volumes of land with diverse types of rights and obligations. Our customers gain a powerful advantage in the marketplace through the use of LandWorks’ integrated land and GIS applications. Much of the workload that consumes a considerable amount of administrator and decision makers’ time can be reduced substantially; while risks associated with projects and agreements are mitigated and timely decisions enabled. LandWorks suite of products will undoubtedly enhance your land asset management and GIS capabilities.

Feel free to give me a call if you’d like to discuss.

Thanks,

John Baucum

The comment regarding iLandMan as a broker only tool would have been correct over 6 years ago. Since that time, iLandMan has spent millions of dollars on development to become the premier land and lease management system that manages land by tracts and formation basis. iLandMan also works offshore allowing land teams to manage all leases, obligations and interest decks directly from a map. Please be careful to make sure the individuals who provide negative comments on any land software have actually used the software.

First question: are your assets onshore or offshore? I would not recommend iLandMan for managing offshore lease obligations – they are geared toward tying landmen to broker input in the field – if you plan to use it for this purpose, I say give them a call! If you have offshore assets, I recommend you contact GeoAmps: http://www.geoamps.com/home/ You are welcome to contact me through LinkedIn – I’ve worked with a number of land systems with various portfolio sizes.

Stay as far away from Quorum Land Systems as you can. It is a horrible system and the support team has a revolving door. No one ever stays long enough to learn how to fix issues. I once had a pretty severe issue that was affecting my rental payment calculations and it took them a month to respond to my initial request for support. That’s not the worst part… They said, “let me do some research and get back to you.” That was in December and I still have not heard back.

I agree with TJ. iLandman will do exactly what you need it to do and is very user friendly. I currently manage over 4000 leases using this system. A tract-based system really makes sense. Plus tracking special lease provisions, obligations, any needed payments (bonus, extensions, etc) is very easy. I’ve trained MANY people on this system and can tell you its very user friendly. My favorite aspect of the system is being able to run a Division Order on any specific tract or group of tracts from the map. If something isn’t looking right on the map or a report, I just run a DO and can quickly find the issue from the wealth of information that it gives me.

And yes, iLandMan tracks special provisions, tells you when to pay them and for how much. Also tracks bonus, rental and other payments.

A few things are very important when you review land software. First, the only way to truly understand exactly what you have leased is to use a tract based system. Second, it must also manage mineral ownership and contracts (leases, assignments, etc.) by formation depth. Third it must link to a dynamic, real-time, easy-to-use GIS map. Forth it must allow you to efficiently manage your leases and obligations, plus create divisions of interest, revenue and JIB decks in seconds, not weeks. Lastly, the system should be easy to use and intuitive, automating some of the land processes. If you are interested learning more about the leading land system for E&P’s, please contact me, T.J.
