Oil and Gas Contracts


This course focuses on the 5 basic elements of oil and gas contracts. We’ll discuss what makes a contract legally enforceable, the definition and defenses for breach of contract as well as the legal principles used by courts to interpret contracts. A brief overview of the major exploration and production contracts are examined including Farm-outs, Area of Mutual Interest Agreements, Assignments and Joint Operating Agreements.

In addition, this course would be ideal for anyone interested in getting a clearer understanding of the different contracts used during the exploration and production phases in the development of oil and gas properties.

In addition, you will be able to identify and explain the impact of each of the basic contracts used in the industry in the development of oil and gas properties.
